Zerust volatile corrosion inhibiting (VCI) products contain chemistries which emit a nontoxic vapor which is diffused throughout an enclosure. When parts are shrouded in a VCI material, the VCI molecules cover the metal surface in a barrier layer. Metal surfaces inside the enclosure are passivated by the VCI molecules. After removal from the packaging, the VCI coating leaves the surface within 2 hours, leaving a clean, dry, and corrosion-free product.
