ELECTROPOLISHING

Electropolishing solves many problems for metal finishing and manufacturers alike. The ability to polish and de-burr the part while remaining within dimensional tolerance is one of the most appreciated benefits. So many electropolishing baths (especially those with higher voltage and temperature) cause excessive stock loss to the part before the surface is polished and the burrs are removed.

Our METALGLEAM™ series of electropolishes are unparalleled in refining or smoothing the surface of stainless steel, copper alloys, and aluminum. They are excellent de-scalers and fuming is negligible. The user will most certainly be delighted with our product’s performance and ease of use. Since there is no mixing required, the risk of spilling chemicals thus possibly injuring employees and incorrect formulation is eliminated.

METALGLEAM™ SERIES

Our METALGLEAM™ process makes it easy. Simply fixture the degreased parts onto any plating style rack and place them into the process tank. Set the timer for the desired cycle, remove the parts when complete and rinse. The first rinse should be room temperature and with air agitation if possible. This can be followed with another immersion rinse or go directly to a spray rinse for thorough removal of any residue. The final rinse, be it a spray or another immersion rinse can be heated to speed drying. Blow off excess water with an air hose, air dry or use heated forced air.

Start out at 7 volts with 5” cathode spacing for a trial cycle of 1 minute. Examine parts and adjust parameters. Once established, the process is extremely repeatable. Our METALGLEAM™ series of electropolishes are full-sludging processes, therefore, the metallic sludges produced can be removed with filtration or easily removed when decanted. The first rinse after or drag-out rinse, can be added back into the tank using a hydrometer to maintain the specific gravity on the process bath.

As with any acidic chemistry, protective clothing such as goggles, boots, gloves and apron must be worn.
